'VITA' is Latin for 'life'
When naming my practice I joked with many friends and colleagues that I think I had an easier time naming my children! I wanted a name that resonated with my clients, but also spoke to what it is I aim to do as a counsellor. In reflecting on my experiences with clients, I realized I've seen people through some of the biggest transitions and important decisions of their lives, the moments where they decided to say yes to a given career path, to end relationships that were not serving them, to make changes in their health and lifestyle, to become parents, and to say goodbye to people and pets whom they'd loved. This is life...moment to moment, decision to decision, it's beautiful and chaotic, hard beyond belief some days, while also joyful and euphoric on others. As a counsellor, it is my great honor to support people on their journeys, to bear witness to the whole spectrum of emotions evoked by our experiences, and offer care, guidance, empathy, and acceptance. 'Vita', therefore, seemed an appropriate name for the space and services I provide. I look forward to learning about you and your life, and working alongside you to ensure you live well and fully!
